CAPE ORD 25P : Cape Far East/Pacific Rim Secures New Offshore ContractsCape?s recently formed Marine & Offshore division has secured two new contracts to provide a range of specialist access services offshore Australia.
The largest of these new contracts will see Cape providing a range of scaffolding services, including design and offshore supervision on ExxonMobil Australia?s Kipper Tuna Turrum Project, currently one of the largest domestic gas developments on the eastern seaboard. The multibillion dollar project will develop cleaner-burning natural gas supplies to help secure Victoria?s energy future, and holds enough energy to power a city of a million people for 35 years.
Cape has been contracted by McDermott Australia to undertake work on this project, which has an estimated duration of 6-8 months and builds on Cape?s existing relationship with McDermott, established on the Pluto A HUC Project (Woodside facility off the North West Coast of Australia).
There is a strong possibility of ongoing maintenance and or project work for Cape on the Kipper Tuna Turrum Project.
Cape?s Marine & Offshore division has further been awarded a service contract from SapuraAcergy Australia to provide rope access for the removal of the old Montara Platform, in the Timor Sea, and the installation of a new Topside.
Martin May, Chief Executive of Cape, commented:
?Securing these contracts is as major achievement for Cape?s newly formed Marine & Offshore division. In the offshore environment it is essential that the crews work together and share the common goal of flawlessness. Cape has demonstrated its ability to deliver to the highest standards offshore and is delighted to be securing further business in this area.?
