Yes mate you could, though very rarely it happens.
Even a slip can kill you eg slipping and striking the back of your head on concrete. It is a matter of the way you land, not necessary the hight.

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply, however my dad had 4 massive injuries to his head the left side the right side the back as well as the top surely u can't fall 4 foot and bounce around 4 times my dad was 17 st 6ft 3 I could understand 1 location but not 4?????

Hi Georgie, sorry for the loss of your father, surely the coroner will be having a post mortem carried out, this will then tell you what you want to know
May your father R I P

Geordie Kelly - firstly very sorry for your loss.

At a time when answers do not come quick enough and the frustration is there then no advice shall rest your mind until you have written confirmation from qualified professionals. As mentioned in the above posts you can die from a trip or as was noted in the recent press a rugby ball in the chest. Generals managers comments about the post-mortem is spot on. The answers shall be in that.

Good luck and i am sure everyone's thoughts will be with you.

Very sorry to hear about your loss Geordie.

As others have said, it isn't necessarily the height involved, it is the type of injury sustained. Only this week a girl died after being hit by a rugby ball, again not the circumstances but the actual injury suffered.

I can appreciate your concern over the lack of progress by the authorities. The thing is, to them it is a job that they deal with every day. I would imagine they will need time to investigate the incident, interview people, get statements and complie a report. Then that will probably be the basis on which the coroner will base the inquest.

I can only imagine how frustrating the whole thing must be but unfortunately you're in their hands.

Im Very Sorry To Hear Of Your Loss Geordie, But Im Afraid The Easy Answer Is Yes, A Four Foot Fall Can And Will Result In Death, It Can Be Fatal At Any Height,Again Im Really Sorry For Yourself And Family At This Difficult Time Mate.

Can only agree with the boy's Geordie, sorry for your loss it must be a tough time for all.

I don't know a lot about how these things work but to my mind 2 months is a disgraceful amount of time to keep the family waiting. It surely can't be that complicated to work out but I suppose it's best left to the so called experts.

Geordie these things take time mate , all the lads are right you can die from tripping over a kerb stone.
my sincere condolences on the lost of your father may he RIP

Yes, it can happen... though as rare as it is, its possible.
People can and do die falling over in the street, when standing on their own 2 feet and banging their heads on the pavement.

Im really really sorry for your loss mate.

I hope you get the info you need off the HSE...

Geordie please dont take this the wrong way mate , but do you suspect something untoward happened to your father , as i was just reading your post again and 4 massive head injuries and a broken neck does seem like a lot of injuries from a 4 foot fall please dont think iam being insensitive , iam just wondering if this is what you are trying to ask.

Yes perhaps not intentional tho but logically I wouldn't of thought it possible for a 4 ft fall to result in such injuries however as I'm led to believe it can happen!!!

My thoughts also....... R.I.P though Fellow Scaff.

i have just read your frustration with a tear in my eye - to lose him is a terrible thing especally when you are notfully aware of the full circumstances, and i'm sure i speak for most on the forum that as sad as the loss is it would only do you more hurt to have people speculating, - although saying that i have seen similar injuries from a low fall although not causing the death of the scaffolder he was very lucky to survive, although it was also not a high fall he struck the ends of several tubes b4 hitting the ground which caused 3 really bad wounds as well as cracking his skull, please except my sincere sympathy for your loss

sorry to hear about the loss of ya father mate... but these things happen i was out with a mate on the drink on satuarday afternoon n he missed the curb fell over smashed his skull to pieces n damaged brain that much he can't walk, talk or do anythin for himself.. he didn't die as paramedics were there within seconds so all i can say is yes you could die from 4ft. god bless your farther n my best friend as he has no life now really..
