every scaff you come across from power stations develops irritable lung syndrome what are your symptoms cj

my granpa got lung scars from workin in a power stn , somethin like alvealitis?

i got chlamydia working on bodham power station can I claim of a wee lassie nick named No 52 she was only 19 she had 52 contractors hence the name

Shortness of breath , caused by narrowing of the lung passages ,Take 12 micrograms of Fordaril once a day , but know it will get worse.

As this been a proven illness through work related symptoms cj from your doctor and are you a long serving scaffolder on power stations ,because it can be an easy process at the hospital all they do is take a breath test and the spores from your lungs can be analysed for fibres .
If you are going to be suffering long term illness through work cj there is no quick fix for companies admitting liability they will fight tooth an nail and most men end up dying and leaving the fight to be finished by the diseased next of kin but lets hope mate you can be cured and to be honest have you considered a career change and keep out of dusty environments bud

Thank you for your reply, I have had spirometer tests and x rays but no lung scrap .
C.O.P.D.is incurable, I just hope that in the future I do not end up in a wheel chair carrying an oxygen bottle around with me .

I am not working in the stations anymore, have been working offshore for a number of years ,

Yes it is ,its incurable the same as emphysema. my mate as emphysema one of his luns is the size of a rugby ball

C.O.P.D. can strike anybody,it doesn't mean that power stations or any industrial installation is to blame for certain(though I suspect it can certainly aggrevate the condition)my better half was diagnosed a couple of years ago with this condition and she's never worked on any power stations or the such in her life, her mother also has it,so there's an element of it being inherent,it's also a lot more prelevant in older people as it's a deteriation of the lungs and passageways, the bad news is it's incurable, the good news is that it is manageable with drugs and you can still live a functional life to a ripe old age;)

Sounds fukin awful, cant think of anything worse than not catching your breath, heres hoping some of the medical boffins make it even more manageable for the affected, best wishes to all concerned ;)

Thanks for your reply, you are right its mainly caused by smoking , but I do not smoke .

the old age mybe right as well

never mind will just have to get on with it..

Thanks again
