Might be a silly question but if the UK votes to leave do you think we would go back to British standards? (Slow progressive change)

Not if you want to continue trade with European countries.

If were not in it,no point. European standards its only a stamp,on chinese/asian made goods.

Exactly.

Too many unknowns, not enough understanding from the public and our politicians are once again too busy promoting their own agenda that we will probably never be able to make an informed choice meaning we will be stuck with the current system for some time to come.

NO. The time to stop was some 25 years ago when we were getting deep into implementing European Standards. Now, there is no possibility of going back. Unfortunately we are stuck with them.

We're also stuck with the cost of BSI fiddling with the codes every 5-10 years, reissuing a complete revised copy with half a dozen clauses slightly amended but insisting that you have to have the whole lot rather than just revised pages because they can't trust users to update their copy. Instead of paying a fiver for a few revised pages, you have to pay a couple of hundred quid a time. When you need to use upwards of eighty different codes (look at the references in the back of TG20), that adds to your overheads in a big way!
