Hi, it's me again. I'm the guy writing a Scaffold safety training video. You guys were so much help last time I thought I'd come back.

I've got a good understanding of what 'fabricated frame' scaffolds are, and 'tube-and-coupler' type scaffolds, but I'm having trouble finding a good, solid definition of 'system scaffolds'.

Can anyone help with defining that term? And maybe pointing out how it relates to the first two kinds of scaffold? For instance; is it a separate class of scaffold entirely from 'frame' and 'tube-coupler' scaffold? Or is there an overlap?

As always, any help very much appreciated.

Zach

There are many types of system scaffolding in use, probably the most well known on this side of the atlantic would be Cuplok, Layher, kwikstage. They all have common features in that there are common lenghts of ledgers, transoms, standards, and are basically easier to erect and faster, but without the adapibility of tube an fitting scaffolding. The term system is derieved from a design or idea in prefabricated scaffold components.
