ASSOCIATION HOLDS FIRST CPD DAY FOR SCAFFOLD DESIGNERS


Scaffolding Association CPD to cover temporary works and design issues
The newly formed Scaffolding Association has announced that it will be holding its first national CPD day for Scaffold Designers on 3rd May 2012 at The Arden Hotel, Bickenhill, Solihull, West Midlands, B92 0EH.

The CPD day will cover temporary works and design issues within the scaffolding industry and the tutor will be “Eur Ing Peter Pallett who was a founder member of the BSI code drafting committee for falsework (BS 5975) in 1978 and; co-author with Dr. Mike Godley on TG20:08 Guide to good practice for scaffolding with tubes and fittings.” The course aims to:

•introduce delegates to the recent changes introduced by BS 5975 for procedures;
•BS EN 1991-1-4 on wind and effects on TG20 calculations; and
•provide a technical discussion on current issues with solutions.
and is intended for: scaffold designers, scaffolding supervisors, temporary works Engineers and technicians, trainers in temporary works and lecturers and those involved in building and civil engineering involving tube and fitting scaffolds
