Just completed my part one as my company pushed me to do it. I'm now due a pay rise? Thing is I've only been with the firm for 6 months and my manager at the start said give it a few months and he will give me a payrise, my question is.. how do I word it in a text to ask him for a rise as that is the preferred way of contact he says.. I'm not the best at being vocal surprisingly so I would appreciate any input fellas.

Thanks.

Oi sh1t head I want a pay rise. Haha. Na mate just come straight out with it. Tell him ur a part 1 now. & I think I should be on part 1 wages. Good luck mate n let us know how u get on.

I wouldn't ask for a pay rise by text because it is to easy to reply and say no. I would wait until the time was right and have a chat face to face. Remember though that they have just forked out money to train you up and invest in your career.

I agree with the others. Always face to face, you will gain respect for that. Be prepared to answer the question as to why you deserve a pay rise. Be prepared to remind him of what he said when he took you on. Be prepared for an initial knockback. Most managers will go away and think about it. Continue to work hard whatever the answer. Managers are not so stupid, if your good enough, you will get what you're worth.

I agree wiv urban uve only been doin it for 5mins, got no experiance so tbh wanna be grateful u got a job let alone want more wonga

Jack the job in and jump on the agency you'll probably get £180 a day in London.

You need to now prove his investment in you. He took you on, seen potential and has invested his money and time in you, prove you can do the job and push on proving his investment was worth it. This way you can stand firm with a little experience and he will know you are worth it!

Think yourself lucky you got your part 1 out of a company after 6 months, a lot of company's string lads on for years without any courses. All that said & done you should still be rewarded for your qualifications

ask him where your pay rise is.. and be prepared to perform an act of oral love upon his penis to receive your desired ...pay rise.

You Got Your Part Well Done Kid, I Know Scaffolders That Were Working For Firms For Years And Never Got A Penny Spent On Any Training At All. You Should However Get A Payrise Because You Are No Longer A Labourer You Are A Trainee Scaffolder.
