Alright lads, i'm currently workin on a blue book job in scotland, its an asbestos project and after nearly 2 years on there i find myself in a suit and mask, because the we r workin in a dirty area and could be for quite a while. Was wonderin if we were entitled to any extra money, we spend nearly 4 hours in a half mask(sunstrom) in the mornin and again in the afternoon, asked the gaffer and suprise suprise he said it was part of our ppe, and we were not gettin anytihng extra...........

big ste from fd.years ago on sgb we used to get extra bonus or at least a job and knock
for being in the deadspace or ducting.or extra hours depends on ya gaffa i think m8.

We used to get a minimum of time and a half,or even double time if the jobs were really shity,think your gaffer is having you over mate,he is proberly doubling his normal prices on these jobs using words like time consuming,dangerous,slower productivity,ppe outlay,i would have it out with him for extra doe mate,its your health on the line,you should be rewarded for your efforts working under those conditions..

Extra hour.

We got an extra hour for a shift in the ****** absorbers on Fiddlers for Lyndon, masked and full body cover.
Like Dico said, seems to be up to the gaffer.

55min's maximum working in a mask then a break,new regs r out,it doesn't matter what if its p3 disposable or sunstorm or whatever.

Worked with asbestos in Bristol scaffolding for demolition companies at Avonmouth and got sweet f a extra, although the scaffold company was earning a small fortune
