Agency?

Morning fellas.

Just wondering: what exactly are the kinds of systems needed inplace to set your own Agency up?
Am i right in assuming that you need the same kinda things as if you were running your own Labour-Only Firm? like Public Liability Insurance, set up as a Limited Company and such?

Roughly what else?

CIS registration, VAT registration, a business account, decent labour, business contacts and most of all quite a few pound in the bank to pay the labour while waiting 30 days to get paid... A good idea though if you can get a good reliable contact that will keep you and a few lads working. Good luck!

30 days, that's a laugh, everyone wants 60day terms now.you'll also need some decent blokes which excludes the latest curry crunching dimwits that seemed to have appeared on the forum.

And even if you negotiate 30 day invoice terms then you are highly unlikely to see any payments within a couple of months from your first day of trading.

So assuming you had 10 x scaffolders on your books for 2 months, each earnings, say, £130/day, you'd need around £52,000 to cover their wages, without any other overheads.

When, and if, you did get paid, it would only be for 30 days worth of invoicing.
