Late last year we put up a small scaffold in Tarvin near to this job in Cheshire. It was 4m high and 6m long on a thatched roof listed building. It took nearly 3 months to get the pavement permit sorted and in the end the Local Authority insisted on traffic management for our wagon not the scaffold. The red tape and hoops we had to jump through to do such a small job was unreal. The pavement permit was £250 for 1 week and that included 4 inspections from them. I had to submit a design and as it was a listed building we were not allowed to drill and tie in.
I dare not think what hoops these guys had to go through to do this job right in the middle of Chester on such a famous landmark there!!
