when you think the average 38hour week nets you £400 to £500 a week depending what firm you work for!! its pretty poor for 2013 when you see that a driver for icelands frozen food earns £8.30 a hour for dropping peoples shopping off don't no what macdonalds paye. surley if you bang the hours in your be no beter off than a scaffolder:laugh: just the embarrasement if someone sees you lol!!
 
Been saying the same for years dico. Back in the late 80s when things got bad loads of guys left for what they thought were gonna be better wages incl myself ending up on a milk round till i thought fcuk this it too much like hard work the amount of hours were horrendous- but some guys went to work in the local sainsburys warehouses earning upto 30k a year & are still there now.

Interesting thought Kev, would you do it or would your pride get in the way? I must admit to hankering to be a wage earner again but there is just a wee bit of me that thinks my pride might just get in the way. Not exactly noble but just how I feel.
 
I got offered £15 an hour yesterday,for a firm in blackpool,only thing was the hours,8 till 5,30.not bad money one would think,but if its only them hours,it wasn't worth the expencive petrol bill.

Only thing is though Dico is look how brain dead those jobs are,you would be bored to death after a couple of weeks and missing the crack back with the lads on a spanner.
 
Are industries not known for a nobel prize kind of bloke though mate, once had a bloke suck an earthworm up his nose and out his mouth then floss.....talent or brains ;)

Unfortunately, there are bawbags of that calibre, to varying degrees all over the building industry. Scaffolding companies do seem to specialise in them though.:eek:

nice to see your still alive allistar lol!!!!! got a mate that's a road sweeper think he works 5 days and a Saturday hes always happy and I normally see him going in pub so not sure what he nets. give me 500 and I would sweep the roads you can wear a hoodie this time of a year so you wont be seen. think the worse job I see the other day was a bloke dressed as a pizza advertising domino pizzas I wouldn't do that for a grand a week ive also seen some poor bloke with a sub way sighn with a arrow on it pointing to the sandwhich outlet jesus some people just haven't got any pride lol!!
 
Dico Iv Never Gave A Toss Who I Worked For Or What I Did, As Long As The Money Was Decent And I Got Paid For It, My Pride Became Irrelevant When My Children Were Born.
 
good on you gerscaff when you need money you will do anything but I would rob a bank or shop for my family rather than dress as a domino pizza or a sub way sighn pointer lets not turn this thread political I was having a laugh each to there own

fair play gerscaff your not alone!!! Friday we had no work on so we were painting the offices at work still got payed the shift but one bit of painting was the toilets lol!!! which my mate put on facebook lol!!! so it made a change from fixing but not sure about dressing as a pizza box lol what size you recon they do or do all pizza boxes fit all :laugh:
 
I've always said that prides a wonderfull thing but it doesnt put a roof over ur head or food on ur table
