Thieves steal scaffolding from Hartlepool business premises (From The Northern Echo)

POLICE are hunting thieves who targeted a business premises and stole scaffolding tubes.

The raid happened sometime over the weekend of October 4 and 7 on Brenda Road in Hartlepool.

Officers believe that a Hiab type truck with a lifting arm was used to lift the tubes after the thieves smashed the locks to gain access to the business.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman: “The tubes varied in length between 16ft and 31ft and because of their weight, it would probably have been necessary to make a number of trips.”

Anyone with any information about the theft or who may have been offered scaffolding poles for sale at a knock-down price is asked to contact PC Hollie Smaldon on Cleveland Police’s non-emergency number 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111
