30 years in the game as of today

God i must be getting old? yes thats 30 years and all for the same company. (must be mad)
Stuck in the office most days QS But still remember the good old days. on the tools for 15 years.
oh and by the way what did i get for 30 years service sweet FA. Thats the problem with scaffolding no one cares about the men only the £££

Company i work for have been giving out long service rewards, i just got 1500 quids worth of vouchers and i know a few guys who have had the same plus variuos other amounts for 5 , 10, 15 , 20 years , must be one of the lucky ones i guess

That has always been the big problem with the scaffolding industry, profit before people,we have the NASC with there flash web site,rules and regulations coming in to the game reguarding safety,tool box talks,method statements,the list goes on,but what protection do us lads really have ?......NONE

I have been in this game for 25 years,15 years on the street on target work and the rest on day work,and it still shocks me to see how some guys get treated,unless the industrys changes it policy of profit first,there will be no new generation of scaffolders coming into this job.

I got a Gold watch for 20 years service, and £1,500. worth of vouchers for 30 years. However still on the 'Spanners'. I cant understand why i havent been promoted:amazed:

lets just say when i started it was called MILLS SCAFFOLDING

Mills were a awsome company (bristol branch) i think as i have read in other posts the branch is only as good as its manager , contracts manger and suporvisors.
From what i can remember it was Mills then GKN then GKN Kwikform then Kwikform and now Interservre and i done the lot , good times
