Have to agree with Scaffy, I think during this recession a lot of firms have got rid, made redundant,laid off a lot of lads because of a lack of work, the lads in turn apply for agency work out of desperation, now things have started to pick up and the scaffold firms are short of men ,into the breach come the agency lads, after a while the balance is usualy restored and the agency's are left with lads that can't get work anywhere else.
Thats what I found anyway, we asked an agency lad on one of our sites when I worked for Palmers to cut through a tube for a loading bay leg and he started to saw away at the tube with a bow saw, the agency were charging £120 per day for what they described as a grade a scaffolder !!!!!
