Quick Question for any of you that have worked off these bigger trucks, are they a pain to work from on streets etc where no lifting is available. I am in need of 2 trucks but finding lower bodied 12 tonners is fairly difficult so i am asking for the drawbacks of the larger vehicles really.

Any info would be of great help

Many thanks in advance

Tbh the bed is obviously higher but no problem we made the brds lower by welding 2 tubes joined together with harris fence brackets to reinforce the span & not as high up as using ladder beams - makes loading easier (can get 150 on b4 tippietoes). Obviously can carry 3 x as much as the 7tonners, so less trips requed but be aware that the road tax bracket is high as well as the general running cost, fuel, tyres for example.
maybe buy a 15t curtain side & cut it down urself best of both worlds.

Do you ever have problems with vosa when building a rack on a truck, i think i have only ever seen one rack built on a truck round here and there must be 20 companies in this area

Not sure i understand ur question as Every lorry down here is racked & stacked, where are you based?- with reguards to vosa ive been stopped a few times over the years & never questioned about the rack.
in saying that though only recently theres been a few stops reported on here where the load hasnt been tied down & they been done for insrcure loads but most lorrys now either have all round dropsides or place tie brds along the rack - extending passed any long that are being carried with a back brd as well....or simply strap down the load through the rack but tbh never been an issue for us.
